What are the auroras and where are they found? Auroras are found in the ionosphere which is located above the thermosphere

How much oxygen and carbon dioxide is found in our air? Oxygen takes up 21% of the air while carbon dioxide takes up less then 1% then the air

What are the 2 most abundant gases found in the air? Nitrogen- 78% and Oxygen-21%
Describe air pressure? How much the air above you weighs down on you is air pressure
What happens to air pressure as altitude increases? Air pressure decreases
Describe jet streams? Narrow belts of high speed winds
What are green house effect Where heat and sunlight is let in but warmth can not escape
Explain the 3 ways that heat is transferred? Thermal radiation, convection and conduction
Where do trade winds flow towerad? At every 30 degrees and along the equator
What does the Coriolis Effect make the winds do? Due to the earths rotation it causes winds to curv
Describe Doldroms? A low pressure area around the equator
What is the ozone layer, where is it found? The ozone layer is found in the stratosphere, and protects us from harmful U.V rays
Describe the thermosphere? The layer of the atmosphere farthest away from earths surface and is extremly hot
what is the most common atmospheric gas? Nitrogen
What parts of the earth cools off faster and heats up faster, What does this unequal heating do?
What is smog? Smoke and fog created from exhaust and other human air pollutants
Describe the movement of convectoin currents? Cold air is on the bottom while hot air is on top
Which instrument measures air pressure? barometer
what is significant about the troposhere? It is the lowest layer of the atmosphere and also is the densist
what kind of ways have humans created air pollution? Industrial plants and electrical plants
What is another name for the distance above sea level? atmosphere
What are global winds? Polar easterlies, westerlies, and trade winds
What does the name of a wind tell you? Where the wind comes from
How much of the sun's energy actually reaches Earth?

Which calm area is located around 30 degrees north and south latitude? Doldroms

What is global warming? due to the greenhouse effect warmth does not escape the earth so temperture is gradualy increasing
