Describe air pressure. As you travel up the pressure is low. When you are on Earth the pressure is high.
What is the atmosphere? The atmosphere is a layer of gases that surrounds our Earth.
What is smog? Smog is a gas in our atmosphere that is a mixture of smoke and fog.
What happens to air pressure as altitude increases? The air pressure decreases.
What does the Coriolis Effect make winds do? The Coriolis effect makes wind move in curved paths across the Earth.

What is the ozone layer? Where is it found? The ozone layer is a mini layer found in the stratosphere that protects us from harmful UV rays.
What is the Thermosphere? Them outer most layer of the atmosphere.
What is Global Warming? Global Warming is the warming and cooling of our Earth by the suns energy.
List the examples of Local Winds. Land breeze and sea breeze
Describe jet streams. Jet streams are fast moving movements of water that moves along with storm.
Which global Winds blow away from the poles to the West?
Which calm area is located around 30 degrees north and south latitude? Horse Latitudes
What are the two most abundant gases found in the atmosphere? Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide
What are auroras and where are they found. Northern lights: North Pole
What is the Greenhouse effect? The greenhouse Effect is the rays from the sun, hitting the Earth and bouncing to the sky and back to Earth constantly .
How much oxygen and carbon dioxide is found in our air? Oxygen=21 percent CO2= less than 1 perccent
What is the most common atmospheric gas? Carbondioxide
Explain the three ways that heat is transferred? Conduction, convection, and radiation
Where do trade winds flow toward? Bodies of water
Which global winds blow away from the poles to the east? East to west
What parts of the Earth cools up and heats up faster? Land
What is significant about the Trophosphere? We live in it?
What kind of ways have people created air pollution? Car exhaust
List the three examples of global winds and name two calm areas. Global Winds- Polar easterlies, westerlies, and trade winds Calm Areas- doldrums and Horse Latitudes
What is another name for the distance above sea level? Altitude
Describe the movement of convection currents. Circular Motion
Which instrument measures air pressure? Barometer
How are all winds created? Through the circulation of air flow.
Describe the doldrums. Calm, weak winds
