ocean shore zone

What is a ocean shore zone? were a area where the ocean meets the land
what is a beach? Shore lines made of sand
What are waves? waves are away the land and expose a rocky shore were waves deposit sand on the shore and from a beach.
What are tides? tides rise and fall of water in the ocean sea.
what is a sand dune? sand dunes sweep up in mounds and plants hold the sand in dunes in place.
what is a barrier island? island are pieces of land surrounded by water on all sides.
what are estuaries? when rivers flow into the ocean.
what are inlets? water filled spaces between the barrier island.
what are salt marshes? salt marsh are found in estuaries.
how does water move? The main 3 water moves in the ocean are tides,currents, and waves.
what are waves? The repeated movement of water is know as a wave, all waves have the same parts.
what is sediment? weathered rocks and other materials carried by water and wind.
What are currents is a on going movement of ocean water. there are cold surfaces and hot surfaces.
