What are barrier islands? Natural and function to protect the main land.
What are inlets? Water filled spaces between the barrier islands.
What are waves? The repeated water movements.
What are estuaries? where salt water and fresh water meet. They also act as sponges to soak up water and they filter the water.
What are currents? An on going movement of ocean waves.
what are tides? The rise and fall of a ocean.
What does wind cause? Currents
How does water move? currents, tides, and waves.
How is one way to create sand dunes? waves
What are beaches? shorelines made of sand.
What do long shore currents do to a beach. move sand from one place to another.
What is the top of a wave called? The crest
What is the bottom of a wave called? The trough
