Waves The repeated motion of water
Current The movement of water
Ocean shore zone The part of the content that touches the ocean
Barrier island A small island that are completely surrounded by water. They protect the main land. They are always changing.
Beaches Shore lines made of sand.
Inlets Water filled areas I between barrier islands.
Sand dunes Mounds of sand made by wind blowing sand.
Salt marsh Act like filters and sponges.
Sediment Materials moved by water.
Estuaries Can have salt and fresh water. Were the river meets the ocean.
Tides The level of water that rises and falls.
Spring tides Really high tides.
Neap tides Really low tides
