Volcano Vocab

TermDefinition
Volcano any place where gas, ash or melted rock comes out of the ground
Magma melted rock that is found beneath the Earth's surface
Lava magma or melted rock that has reached the Earth's surface.

Viscosity (Not an important word!!!) the resutance of a liquid material to flow the viscosity of the magma determines the type of eruption that occurs Low viscosity- forms low slopes, doesn't cause large explosions High viscosity- form steep slopes and can erupt explosively
