Vocabulary Word Definition
Cell Theory states that all organisms are made up of one or more cells, the cell is the basic unit of life, and all cells come from other cells
Cell Wall tough, rigid outer coverings that protect cells and give them shape
Cell Membrane The protective layer surrounding every cell
Cytoplasm freely flows in cell, jellylike material
Ribosome Organelle that provides proteins for the cell
Organelle Like a small organ in cells
Nucleus Controls all activity and growth
Chloroplast photosynthesis, contains chlorophyll, organelle
Mitochondrion Provides energy for the cell, organelle
Endoplasmic Reticulum ER in the cell
Golgi Body Transports things Out of the cell
