volcano a volcano is any place where gas, ash, or melted rock come spewing out of the ground.
magma Melted rock, called magma, is less dense than normal rock so the less dense magma, the harder and faster it will come spewing out of the volcano.
lava lava is magma that has reached the surface of the volcano.
vent opening of a volcano.
tectonic plates giant sections on Earth's lithosphere on Earth's surface.
Divergent boundaries plates that move away from each other.
convergent boundaries two plates that move towards each other.
Hot spots A location where a column of extremely hot mantle rock rises through the athenosphere.
craters a crater is a opening or an depression at the top of a volcano.
calderas a caldera is when lava empties out of of the volcano leaving the ground to collapse.(which causes a sinkhole)
