Multicellular Organism – A multicellular organism is an organism that is made of more than one cell and each cells has a special job.
Unicellular Organism A single celled organism, or an organism made of only one cell that performs all the cell needs for life
Homeostasis The body’s ability to maintain a stable, healthy environment
Organism an entire living thing that carries our all the basic life functions
Organ System a group of organs that work together and provide your body with an advantage for survival
Organ tissues working with other tissues
Tissues a family of cells working together
Cells the basic structural and functional unit of all organisms
Circulatory System The organ system that permits blood and lymph circulation to transport nutrients.
Muscular System The organ system made of muscle tissue that allows the body to move.
Skeletal System The organ system made of bone tissue that gives your body structure, protects your internal organs, and produces red blood cells.
Peripheral Nervous System The system that carries messages to and from the central nervous system. It sends information to the brain and carries out orders from the brain through the nerves.
Central Nervous System Made of the brain and spinal cord, these two vital body parts control everything your body does
Nervous System The body system that sends and receives information about the body and what’s happening around it using nerve cells.
Cardiovascular System The body system that makes oxygenated blood using the heart and lungs.
Respiratory System The body system that enables your body to breathe that includes the lungs, trachea, bronchi, and diaphragm
Independent Does not need other body systems to function.
Interdependent Relies on other body systems to function correctly.
Digestive System The body system that allows your body to get the nutrients and energy it needs from the food you eat. The parts are the stomach, esophagus, large and small intestine, gastric juices, and liver.
