5th Grade Science

Nutrients Substance in food and soil that help organisms live and grow
Food Chain shows the path of energy as it moves from one organism to another
Producer organisms that make their own food energy (plants)
Photosynthesis the process by which a plant makes its own food
Consumer Organism that gets its energy from eating other plants and animals
Herbivore consumer that eats other plants
Carnivore consumer that eats other animals
Omnivore consumer that eats both plants and animals
Decomposer an organism that gets its energy from breaking down the remains of plants and animals
Respiration the process of using food and oxygen to release energy
