| Adaption | Any inherited characteristic that results from changes to species over time. |
| Biology | The study of life. |
| Development | The process of natural changes that take place during the life of an organism. |
| Growth | The addition of mass to an organism and, in many organisms, the formation of new cells and new structures. |
| Homeostatis | Regulation of an organism's internal conditions to maintain life. |
| Organism | Anything that has or once had all the characteristics of life. |
| Organization | Arranged in an orderly way. |
| Reproduction | The production of offspring. |
| Response | The reaction to stimulus. |
| Species | A group of organisms that can breed with one another and produce fertile offspring. |
| Stimulus | Anything that is part of an environment and causes some sort of reaction by an organism. |
| Ethics | A set of moral principles or values. |
| Forensics | The field of study that applies science to matters of legal interest. |
| Metric System | Units with divisions that are powers of ten. |
| Peer Review | A process by which, in science, the procedures used during an experiment and the results are evaluated by other scientists who are in the same field or who are conduction similar research. |
| Science | A body of knowledge based on the study of nature. |
| Theory | When enough evidence from many related investigations supports an idea. |
| Control Group | A group used for comparison. |
| Constant | A factor that remains fixed during an experiment while the independent and dependent variables change. |
| Data | Information gained from observations. |
| Dependent Variable | During an experiment, scientists measure a second factor. |
| Experiement | An investigation of phenomenon in a controlled setting to test a hypothesis. |
| Experimental Group | The group exposed to the factor being tested. |
| Hypothesis | A testable explanation of a situation. |
| Independent Variable | It is the tested factor and it might affect the outcome of the experiment. |
| Inference | Combine what you know with what you have learned and begin a process of making logical conclusions. |
| Observation | A direct method of gathering information in an orderly way. |
| Safety Symbol | A logo designed to alert you about a specific danger. |
| Scientific Method | A method scientists use to gather information and to answer questions. |
| Serendipity | The occurrence of accidental or unexpected but fortunate results. |
