What is the body's largest organ? The Skin.
What are the 3 layers of the skin? Epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous.
What is Keratin? A protein.
What is Elastin? Fibrous glycoprotein found in connective tissue.
What are the 8 factors that influence the skin? Alcohol, Emotions, climate, Nicotine, Diet, general heath, hereditary, and hormones.
Why is sunscreen important? It protects the skin from harmful UV rays.
What is the Dermis made of? Nerve ending, blood vessels, sweat glands, and oil sebum.
What are AHA's and what to they do? Molecules found in fruit and milk. They exfoliate the skin.
What does PH stand for? Possible of potential hydrogen.
What does PH refer to? The amount of acid and alkaline of a surface.
What is the PH of the Skin? In between 4.5 and 6.4
What is buffer capacity? The ability to withstand rapid pH fluctuation.
What are the 3 skin care steps? Cleanse, tone and moisturize.
What are the 3 skin types? Oily, Dry and Normal.
What is a "dry make-up station"? Sanitized.
What are good quality brushes made of? Natural animal hair, and they are hand made.
What are the complimentary colours of Blue, purple and green? Orange, Yellow and red?
What is lanolin? Where is it derived from? It's derived from sheep and it is used as a lubricant.
What is the most prominent feature of the 1920's? and the 1960's? 20's = the eyebrows, 60's = the eyes.
How should one thin out a cream based foundation? Use a primer.
What should you do if someone reacts to make-up? Take it off asap!
On set, would we clean off the actors make-up at the end? Yes.
What is champhor? It's used on cold sores.
An actor must wear the make-up you decide? True.
Metallic make-up minimizes flaws? False.
On set, a make-up artist holds an umbrella for their actor? True.
