| pollution | the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects. |

| renewable energy | Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that comes from resources which are continually replenished on a human timescale such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal |
| non-renewable energy | Used to describe energy sources that exist in a limited amount on Earth. Thus all available material could eventually be completely used up. |
