Natural Reasource Materials found in the earth that people need
Watershed Land that drains water into a particular body of water
Mouth The place where a stream or river flows into a larger body of water
Source Upper parts of a river or where a stream or river begins. Also called headwaters
Tributary Small stream that flows into a larger stream or river
Topographic Map Type of map that shows the shape of earth's surface
Countour Line Line on topographic map that shows equal elevations
Countour Interval Change in elevation between lines
Decidous Trees that drop leaves in the fall
Algae Aquatic once-cell or multi-cell plant
Resourvoir Articial lake used to store water
Esutary Area where salt water and fresh water mix
Habitat A place where animals can find and shelter
Sediment Soil and bits of rocks that is carried from trhe land to the water
