| Term | Definition |

| Tide | Daily rising and falling in a regular cycle of Earth's waters on its coast, at hightide waves hit father up the beach than at low tide. |
| Current | Flow of water in a larger body of water. |
| Waves | Cause most of erosion and deposition on a bigger wave-more erosion. |
| Barrier Island | A small island along a coastline formed by deposition protect the coastline. There shape always changes. EX: H. Hon Head. |
| Inlets | Constantly change over time. Openings between barrier is lands. Waves and tides change. Water level and salinity cammount of slat. |
| Inlet | Allows water to flow between barrier islands. |
| Shoreline | It is when water meets. |
| Tidal Marsh | Are swampy areas along the ocean. |
