rock cycle

What does Weathering mean? The process by which water, wind, ice, and changes in temperature break down rock.
What does erosion mean? The process by which sediment is moved from one place to another.
What does deposition mean? The process by which sediment is dropped off in a new location.
What does Igneous rock mean? When magma or lava cools and hardens to become a solid.
What does Sedimentary rock means? When minerals that form from solutions or sediment from older rocks get pressed and cemented together.
What does Metamorphic rock mean? When pressure, temperature, or chemical process change existing rock.
What does the rock cycles mean? Which rock changes from one type of rock to another.
What does uplift mean? The rising of regions of the crust to higher elevations.
What does subsidence mean? The sinking of regions of the crust to lower elevations.
What does rift zone mean? An area where a set of deep cracks can form.
