How do oceans form? Water vapor from early volcanoes on the earth, later falling as rain and it filled the lower levels of earths surface.
How did salt get into oceans? Rivers and streams that flow into then ocean dissolve many minerals that make it salty.
What are the oceans often called the World Ocean? Because they are all connected to make one huge ocean.
Why are all oceans considered sperate oceans? There are different ocean currents in each ocean.
What is the oceans largest to smallest acorrding to their surface area? 5 Arctic 4 Southern 3 Indian 2 Atlantic 1 Pacific.
What continent's border each ocean? All 7.
Want is Topography? The study of earths features.
How do we figure out what the features of the ocean floor look like? By using Sonar.
How does Sonar work? It sends out a sound wave, hits the bottoms of the ocean bounces back and returns. Then we take half of that time and multiply it by the speed of sound.
How are seamounts, islands, any guyots different? One is flat, one is above water and the last is like an underwater mountain.
