minerals are inorganic solid material found in nature .
rocks such as the atoms in the crystal is unique to each mineral.
crystals solid material that have such a pattern of atoms.
cleavage they split into pieces with smooth regular planes that reflect light.
color is the color of the mineral
fracture some break into pieces and have ruff edges .
streak wiping a rock across a glass tile is cleavage it leaves a streak
luster luster is how it shines.
hardness hardness is how hard it is and what is can scratch.
gems are minerals that are rare and can be polished and celled for jewelry.
ore a mineral is called a ore
