Atomic Theory Pt.2

Compound Made from 2 different atoms that chemically combine
Conservation of Mass matter is never created or destroyed it is simply rearranges itself
Covalent Compound 2 Nonmetals
Ionic Compound metal and Nonmetal
Lewis Dot Structure picture that shows how element form compound using valance electrons
Substance is a matter that has the same fixed composition and properties.
Heterogeneous mixture A type of mixture where the substances are not mixed evenly
Homogeneous mixture type of mixture where two or more substances are evenly mixed on a molecular level but are not bonded together
Solution homogeneous mixture whose elements and/or compounds are evenly mixed at the molecular level but are not bonded together
Solute substance that dissolves and seems to disappear into another substance
Solvent substance that dissolves the solute
Precipitate solid that comes back out of it's solution because of a chemical reaction or physical change
Molecule a group of atoms bonded together
Physical change one in which the form or appearance of matter changes, but not it's composition
Vaporization a liquid changes into a gas
Condensation a gas changes into a liquid
Sublimation a solid that changes directly into a gas
Deposition gas changes into a solid
Chemical change substances are changed into different substances
