| Ionic compound | a metal and nonmetal combined |
| Lewis Dot Structure | a picture that shows how elements form compound, using valence electrons. |
| Element | PURE; one type of atom. |
| Substance | Is matter that has the same fixed compotion and properties |
| heterogeneous mixture | A type of mixture where the substances are not mixed evenly. |
| solvent | A substance that devolves the solute. |
| solute | substance that dissolves and seems to disappear. |
| homogeneous mixture | when two or more substances are mixed but do not combine chemically to form a single |
| precipitate | a liquid becoming a solid |
| solution | an other word for homogeneous mixture. |
| physical change | It can be physically separated. |
| vaporization | When a liquid forms into a gas. |
| condensation | The process by which a gas or vapor changes to a liquid. |
| sublimation | The process of changing from a solid to a gas. |
| diposition | The particles may originate from a vapor, solution, suspension, or mixture. |
| chemical change | When there is a color change, smell or gas coming out. |
