What is air made up of? Nitrogen 78%, Oxygen 21%, and 1% of other gasses.
Why are nitrogen and oxygen necessary for life on Earth? Plants need nitrogen, and most animals and plants need oxygen.
Precipitation Any form of water that falls from clouds to the ground.
Why does precipitation occur? Water particles condense into clouds and when the water falling speed is greater than the updraft force, precipitation falls.
Types of precipitation rain, snow, freezing rain, sleet, and hail
Air pressure ~result of air weight pushing down on an area ~normal air pressure is 14.7 pounds/square inch ~measured with barometer
Low pressure ~stormy/cloudy weather ~attracts fronts
High pressure ~fair, sunny weather
