Confucianism a religion that started in China that emphasizes filial piety and respect for elders
Shintoism the official religion of Japan until the end of World War II that promotes the worship of kami, or nature spirits, and teaches that the emperor was a descendant of the Sun God
Kashmir an area between India and Pakistan that both countries claim and have fought over in the past
colonialism when a country sends settlers to another country or area of the world
region an area of the earth's surface that shares unifying characteristics
wheat belt an area in the central United States where wheat is the primary crop
rust belt a region from the Great Lakes to the Northeastern United States where heavy industry was concentrated until many factories went out of business
sun belt a region across the southern United States where people retire to from colder northern states
