what is a independent variable? the variable that does not change or is not affected in an experiment.
what is the dependent variable? the variable the changes and depends on other factors.
What is a control group? Its the group that does not receive treatment.
what is a control variable? A variable that keeps track of the number of iterations of a process.
what is a compound? a thing that is composed of two or more separate elements.
what does homeostasis mean? the tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements.
what are electrons? a negative charge.
what are protons? a positive charge.
what are neutrons? a neutral charge.
what is an atom? smallest part of an element.
what are the monomers of protiens? aminoacids
what are the monomers of carbohydrates? monosaccrides.
what elements do all organic compounds contain? carbon.
cell size is limited by what factor? surface area.
what did Robert Hooke do? introduced the concept of "cells".
what is solvent? able to dissolve other substances.
what is solute? substance that is dissolved in a solvent
what is diffusion? the tendency of molecules to spread into an available space.
what is an organelle? of a number of organized or specialized structures within a living cell.
