Graduated Cylinder A tool, usually tall and skinny, used to determine the volume of liquids
Graphs, Tables, and Charts The ways in which data are recorded for a scientific experiment or investigation
Mass A measure of the amount of matter in something
Meniscus The curved surface of a liquid
Metric System A decimal system of weights and measures based on the meter and kilogram; the unit of measurement used in science
Scientific Method A collection of steps used to explore questions and investigate the natural world
Theory An explanation of why something happens in nature that has not been proven
Balance Tool used to measure the mass of an object
