TermDefinition
Triple Beam Balance This lab tool is used to measure the mass of an object in grams.
Graduated Cylinder It is used to measure accurate amounts of volume. The units used are called milliliters.
Hand Lens This object is used to magnify other small objects.
Volume The amount of space that an object occupies.It is measured in milliliters.
Mass It is the amount of matter in an object.
Nucleus The center of an atom, which consists of protons and neutrons
Proton A subatomic particle with a positive charge.
Molecule It forms when 2 or more atoms chemically combine.
Metal An element that is solid with a shiny surface and conducts electricity well.
Law of Consrvation of Mass This law states that matter cannot be created nor destroyed.
Balanced Force This is when the net force on an object is zero and there is no change in motion.
Speed This is how fast an object moves over time
Acceleration A change in velocity.
Force A push or a pull on an object.
Newton The unit used to measure force.
Chemical Change When a substance undergoes this type of change, its chemical composition is changed.
Diatomic Molecule A molecule with 2 atoms of the same element.
Reactants Substances that go through a chemical change.
Velocity An object's speed in a given direction
Apparent Magnitude This is how bright appears as viewed from earth.
