| Atom | Building Block of matter |
| Element | Most pure type of matter, can't be broken down |
| Nucleus | The brain of an atom |
| Electron Shell | The barrier between a nucleus and electrons |
| Fire Extinquisher | Used to put out a fire in a lab |
| Neutron | a neutral charge that makes isotopes in an atom |
| Electron | A negative charge that makes ions in an atom |
| Valence Electrons | The number of electrons on the outermost shell. |
| Volume | The amount of space an object takes up |
| Graduated Cylinder | Measures how much liquid is in it and can be used to find volume |
| Density | How compact something is |
| Speed | The distance traveled in an amount of time |
| Velocity | Objects speed and direction at a given instant |
| Acceleration | Change in velocity over time |
| Force | A push or a pull |
| Balanced force | Force that doesn't make something move; has a net force of 0 |
| Unbalanced force | Force that makes something move; doesn't have a net force of 0 |
| Newton | Measure of force on an object |
| Mass | The amount of matter an object conatains |
| Newtons 1st Law | Objects in motion will stay in motion and objects at rest will stay at rest until acted on by an outside force. |
