Cellular Respiration

Metabolism Chemical processes that happens within a living thing, in order to maintain life.
ATP Synthase ATP Synthase is basically the mitochondria's protein structures.
Glycolysis The breakdown of glucose, thus releasing energy and pyruvic acid.
Aerobic An environment with oxygen.
Krebs Cycle Sequence of reaction that generates energy during the process of aerobic respiration.
Electron Transport Chain This basically accepts electron transfers between an electron donor and an electron acceptor.
Equation for Cell Respiration Glucose + 602 = 6H20 + ATP + 6CO2 (Energy) (Oxygen)= (Water) (Energy) (Carbon Dioxide).
Fermentation The chemical breakdown of a substance by microorganisms, like bacteria and yeast. In other words, it's the production of ATP without oxygen.
Lactic Acid Fermentation Muscles produces a waste product, called lactic acid, which contributes to the fatigue after a long run.
Alcoholic Fermentation This occurs when yeast produces alcohol, instead of lactic acid.
Anaerobic An environment without oxygen.
