TermDefinition
Hypothesis A statement of what you think will happen during an investigation.
Observation Something you find out about objects, events, or living things by using your senses.
Experiment The use of scientific methods to test your hypothesis.
Model Are objects or ideas that represent other things.
Survey A question given to many people, Ether given on the phone or in person.
variable Is something that can change in a test
control group the grope that doesn't receive special treatment.
Procedures Step-by-step instructions for completing a task.
Sampling Scientists examine random individuals from a population.
independent variable is one that you can change or control
dependent variable Changes when an independent variable change. can be measured.
experimental group Dose receive special treatment.
Data It is information from which a conclusion can be drawn or a prediction can be made.
Precision Is the ability to consistently make a measurement.
Accuracy Is the ability to make a measurement that is as close to the actual value as possible.
Inference Is a conclusion based on observation.
Evidence Are observations that make you believe that something is true.
