| Hypothesis | A statement of what you think will happen during an investigation. |
| observation | Something you find out about objects, events, or living things by using their senses. |
| experiment | The use of scientific methods to test your hypothesis. |
| Model | Objects or ideas that represent other things. |
| Survey | Questions that are answered by people. |
| Sampling | Examining random individuals from a population. |
| Variable | Something that you can change in a test. |
| Control Group | The group that does not get the treatment. |
| Procedure | A step-by-step instructions. |
| Data | Information to form a conclusion. |
| Precision | The ability to consistently repeat a measurement. |
| Accuracy | The ability to make a measurement that is close. |
| Inference | A conclusion based on observations. |
| Evidence | observations that make you believe something is true. |
| Independent variable | One that you can control or change. |
| Dependent Variable | Is what gets measured, changes when independent variable changes. |
| experimental group | The group that gets the treatment. |
