11.P-wave The ECG represents atrial depolarization.
12.S-wave A type of elastic wave,a secondary wave.
13.Surface wave A mechanical wave that propagates.
14.Seismograph An instrument that records details of an earthquake.
15.Magnitude The great size or extent.
16.Richter scale A numerical scale.
17.Mercalli scale A scale formerly to used to describe the magnitude.
18.Moment magnitude scale A logarithmic scale of 1 to 10.
19.Tsunami A long high sea wave.
20.Liquefaction The conversion of solid or a gas.
21.After shock A smaller earthquake.
22.Base Isolation A protecting structure against earthquake forces.
23.Shear core walls A composed of braced panels.
24.Tension ties When a structure is being stretched.
25.Cross braces The cross-beam connecting between arches.
26.Mass damper A device mounted in structures to reduce.
27.Flexible pipe To transmit or load the soil.
28.Tension The state of being stretched tight.
29.Compression The action of compressing.
30.Shearing wall panels
31.Plateau Level of high ground.
32.Normal-fault An inclined fault.
33.Reverse-fault A thrust fault.
34.Strike-slip fault A fault in which rock strata is displaced.
