relapse return of a disease or its symptoms
paralysis loss of movement in muscles
syndactyly congenital anomaly in which fingers or toes are webbed
parathyroid four endocrine glands that are located near (behind) another endocrine gland in the neck
adrenal glands that are located above the kidneys
prodrome symptoms that come before the actual illness
recombinant DNA technique of transferring genetic material from one organism into another
prolapse sliding, sagging downward or forward
neoplasm new growth or tumor
ultrasonography process of using sound waves to create an image of organs and structures in the body
syndrome group of symptoms that occur together and indicate a particular disorder
remission symptoms lessen and a patient feels better
