Key Terms

Key TermsDefinitions
Science A way of learning and aquiring knowledge about the natural world.
Observation The use of one or more of your senses to gather information.
Quantitative Observation An observation that deals with a number or amount.
Qualitative Observation An observation that deals with characteristics that cannot be expressed with numbers. Using the 5 senses to gather information.
Inference An interpretation based on observations and prior knowledge.
Prediction The process of guessing what will happen based on things that you already know.
Classification Grouping things based on how they are similar.
Model A representation of a complex object or process.
Life Science The study of living things.
