| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Aridic Regime | aka Torric never moist for 90 consecutive days dry > 50% of thet ime |
| Ustic Regime | soils dry for 90+ consecutive days depending on temp 1. soil is moist for at least 180 cumulative or 90 consecutive days 2. not dry in all parts > 50% of the time does not meet xeric moisture regime requirements |
| Xeric Regime | moist winters and dry summers ie) Mediterranean climates |
| Udic Regime | humid climates where summer precipitation and stored moisture > evapotransporation not dry for 90 consecutive days |
| Perudic Regime | all months precipitation > evapotransportation ie) rainforests, jungles |
| Aquic Regime | soils saturated for at least a few days per year; redoxymorphic features mottles due to reducing conditions = hydric soils |
