scale | feature that relates distances on a map to actual distances on earths surface. |
symbol | drawing on a map that represents a real object. |
legend | list of map symbols and their meanings. |
elevation | height of a point o earth above or below sea level. |
topography | general form and shape of the land on earths surface. |
contour line | line drawn on a map that connects all points having the same elevation. |
contour interval | difference in elevation between one contour line and the next. |
