What is fossil Record? provides evidence of history of life
What is evolution? Gradual change in a living thing
What is relative age? Estimated age compared to other rocks
What is absolute age? a precise age of a rock
What is a fault? a break in the Earths crust
What is an index fossil/ what does it do? it helps geologists match rock layers and tells relative age of where rick occured
What is the Geologic time scale? Different periods of Earths time
What are the two types of igneous rock and what do they do? intrusion-lava hardens beneath surface extrusion-lava hardens on surface
How does a fossil form? 1. animal/plant dies and sinks into shallow water 2.sediment covers (dead) living thing 3.sediment turns to rock 4.due to weathering and erosion rock is exposed at surface.
