weathering meteorizacion: proceso quimico o mecanico que rompe y modifica las rocas que se hallan sobre o cerca de la superficie terrestre; su velocidad se ve influida por factores como la precipitacion y la temperatura.
mechanical weathering meteorización mecánica: proceso de rompimiento de rocas y minerales en trozos mas pequenos que no afecta la composicion del material.
forst wedging erosion periglaciar: proceso mecanico de meteorizacion que ocurre cuando el agua se congela y se descongela, en repetidas ocasiones, en las grietas de las rocas, ocasionando el rompimiento de las mismas.
exfoliation exfoliación: proceso de meteorización mecánica que causa la eliminación de los estratos rocosos exteriores, a menudo produce formaciones en forma de domo.
chemical weathering meteorización química: proceso mediante el cual las rocas y los minerales experimentan cambios en su composision, debido a reacciones químicas con agentes como ácidos, agua, oxígeno o dióxido de carbono.
oxidation oxidacion: reaccion quimica del oxigeno con alguna otra sustancia.
erosion erosion: eliminación y transporte de materiales meteorizados de un lugar a otro por agentes como el agua, el viento los glaciares y la gravedad.
deposition depositacion: ocurre cuando los pateriales erosionados son depositados en otro sitio..
rill erosion erosión por surcos: erosión en la cual el agua que corre cuesta abajo forma un canal pequeño.
gully erosion erosion de barrancos: erosion que ocurre cuando el cauce de un arroyuelo se ensancha y profundiza.
