solar system
| Term | Definition |

| mass | a body of coherent matter, usually of indefinite shape and often of considerable size |
| weight | the amount or quantity of heaviness or mass; amount a thing weighs. |
| solar system | the sun together with all the planets and other bodies that revolve around it. |
| nebula | a cloud of interstellar gas and dust. |
| solar nebula | A hypothesis concerning the origin of the solar system according to which a rotating nebula cooled and contracted, throwing off rings of matter that contracted into the planets and their moons, while the great mass of the condensing nebula became the sun. |
| planetsimal | small pieces that they think formed together to make a rock |
| crust | the brown hard outer portion or surface of a loaf or slice of bread |
