Solar System
| Term | Definition |

| Mass | a coherent, typically large body of matter with no definite shape. |
| Weight | a body's relative mass or the quantity of matter contained by it, giving rise to a downward force; the heaviness of a person or thing. |
| Solar System | the collection of eight planets and their moons in orbit around the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteoroids, and comets. |
| Nebula | a cloud of gas and dust in outer space, visible in the night sky either as an indistinct bright patch or as a dark silhouette against other luminous matter. |
| Solar Nebula | A hypothesis concerning the origin of the solar system according to which a rotating nebula cooled and contracted, throwing off rings of matter that contracted into the planets and their moons, while the great mass of the condensing nebula became the sun. |
| Plantesimal | a minute planet; a body that could or did come together with many others under gravitation to form a planet. |
