Hypothesis prediction or statement that can be tested & may be formed by prior knowledge, any previous observations, & new information
Experimental Research Design used to answer scientific questions by testing a hypothesis through the use os a series of carefully controlled steps
Descriptive research answers scientific questions through observation
Independent variable variable that can be changed during an experiment
Dependent variable factor that is being measured during an experiment
Constant variable that stays the same during an experiment
Control sample that is treated like other experimental groups except that the independent variable is not applied to it
Evaporation process that takes place when a liquid changes to a gas
Condensation process that takes place when a gas changes to a liquid
Water Cycle model describing how water moves from Earth's surface to the atmosphere and back to the surface again through evaporation, condensation, & precipitation
Nitrogen Cycle model describing how nitrogen moves from the atmosphere to the soil, to living organisms, & then back to the atmosphere
Carbon Cycle model describing how carbon molecules move between the living and nonliving world
Element substance that cannot be broken down into simpler substances
Electron negatively-charged particle that exists in an electron cloud formation around an atom's nucleus
