ecosystem All of the biotic and abiotic factors in an area.
population A group of organisms of one species that live in an area at the same time.
community All of the populations in an area.
niche The role that an organism has in an ecosystem.
habitat The place in which an animal lives.
Tropical Rainforest warm, large rainfall, thick plant growth, near equator, terrestrial
Deciduous Forest loses leaves during fall, covers eastern U.S., filled with oaks, elms, and maples, changing during winter months, terrestrial
Grasslands covered with grasses, few trees, small amounts of rainfall, animals like bison, antelope, and prairie dogs eat grass, terrestrial
