| Boiling Point | the point where water turns into vapor |
| Melting Point | The temp. at which a given solid will melt |
| Freezing Point | at which a liquid turns into solid |
| Specific Heat | the heat required to raise the temp. of the unit mass of given substance by a given amount |
| Intermolecular Force | Forces that act between stable molocles or between stable molocules or between functional groups of macromolecules |
| Molecules | a group of atoms bonded together, representing the smallest findamental unit of a chemical compound that can take part in a chemical reaction |
| Cohesion | the action or fact of forming a united whole |
| Adhesion | the molecular force of attraction in the area of contact between unlike bodies that acts to hold them together |
| Evaporation | the process by which a liquid changes into a gas |
| Density | a property of matter representing the mass per unit of volume |
| Condensation | Water vapor becoming a liquid |
| Precipitation | Any type of liquid or solid water that falls to Earth's surface, such as rain, snow, or hail |
| Water Vapor | Water in the form of a gas |
| Surface Tension | the result of an inward pull among the molocules of a liquid that brings the molecules on the surface closer together |

| cation | an ion or group of ions that have a positive charge |
| ion | An atom or molecule with a net electric charge due to the loss or gain of one or more electron |
| Fresh Water | Water that is not salty and has little taste, color, or smell |
