TermDefinition
Power grid a system of power lines, transformers, and equipment used to distribute electricity to a location.
Generator a machine that uses a magnetic field to turn motion to electricity
Transformer a machine that changes the voltage of an alternation current without losing much energy
Alternating current a current that changes direction. The voltage can speed up or slow down.
Direct current current where electrons flow in one direction
Series Circuit has one path for the flow of electric current. If the path is broken the current cannot flow.
Parallel Circuit a circuit that has more than one path or the electric current to follow. If one of the paths is broken the electrons can still flow through other paths.
