What does lipids include? Fats, phospholipids oils, waxes, and steriods
What are the functions of proteins? Enzymes, structural components in cells, mechanical functions in muscle, cell signaling, cytoskeleton, immune response
What is the subunit of proteins? Amino acids
What does proteins include? Globular and structular proteins
What are the functions of nucleic acids? Encode genes and gene expression
What are the subunits of nucleic acids? 5-carbon sugar, phosphate group, and a nitrogen base
What does nucleic acids include? DNA & RNA
What is a monomer? One molecule
What is a polymer? A chain of many monomers/molecules
How are monomers related to polymers? A polymer is made up of a chain of monomers
