Unit 1

What is earth scince? The science that focuses on planet earth and it's place in the univerity.
What is energy? The ability to do work or cause change.
What is a system? A group of related parts that work together.
What is a destructive force? A force that slow mountain/other features on earth.
What is a constructive force? A force that builds up mountains and other land masses on earth.
What is density? The amount of mass of a substance in a given volume.
What is a hypothesis? An if or than statement that is testable.
What is heat? The transfer of thermal energy from one object to another because of a difference in temperature.
What is conduction? The direct transfer of the thermal energy from one substance to another substance that it is touching.
What is convection? The transfer of thermal energy through movement of a fluid.
