TermDefinition
atom The smallest part of matter.
Chemical change A change that occurs in a substance's composition.
Chemical property A property of a substance that has the ability to change what it is made of.
Compound A substance that is made of two or more different atoms or elements.
Element A substance that is made of one type of atom.
Mixture A substance that consists of two or more atoms that are chemically combined.
Physical Change A change that occurs in a substance that does not change its composition, but does change its appearance.
Physical Property The type of property that you can use your five senses to describe an object or substance.
