hypothesis uses all the information that was gathered and forms a testable prediction
purpose state the problem
conclusion review the data and decide if it supports the hypothesis
observation using your senses to gather information
analysis interpret data from your experiment
independent variable the factor in an experiment that "I" change on purpose
dependent variable the factor in an experiment that results from a change in the value of the independent variable
control a standard for comparison that helps to ensure that the experimental result is caused by the condition being tested
constant a factor that does NOT change in an experiment
repeated trials the number of times the whole experiment is completed
