cambium The layer in the plant stem that separates xylem and phloem
stomata Carbon dioxide comes into the leaf through this
xylem The cells that transport water and minerals from roots to shoots in plants.
sugar The substance that is broken down to release energy to power the cell's functions
phloem This part of the plant moves sugars up, down, and all around a plant.
gymnosperm A seed plant that does not produce flowers
chloroplasts captures the energy of the sunlight
angiosperm The seed plant that produces flowers
photosynthesis The process that plants use to produce their food and give off oxygen
transpiration This occurs when water moves up the vascular tubes through the stomata
