variable (independent) anything you can change in an experiment that might effect the outcome.(only change one thing)
variable (controlled) anything you keep the same in an experiment
standard a basic procedure in a controlled experiment (BEFORE changing any of the variables)
controlled experiment an experiment in which ONE variable is changed in order to assess its effect
two-coordinate graph a graph that shows the outcome of a series of experiments when a variable is changed b steps
cycle any motion that repeats itself
pendelum a mass hanging from a fixed point that is free to swing to and fro (back and forth)
capacity the greatest amount of fluid a container can hold
system a set of objects that is working together
