TermDefinition
Scientific Method An organized set of steps that is used to solve a problem.
Focus Question The purpose or reason to do an experiment or investigation.
Hypothesis A if,then statement that makes a prediction to solve a problem.
Materials A list of items needed for a experiment or investigation.
Procedure Step by step instructions.
Constant Factors in an experiment that do not change.
Dependent variable One factor that is measured or tested in experiment.
Data Information that has been measured or observed in an experiment.
Independent Variable One factor in an experiment that can be changed or different.
Claim A statement that is true.
Evidence Fact given to support truth or claim.
Conclusion An explanation given to prove a hypothesis true or false.
Reflection Thinking examining your thoughts.
