| plian | a flat strip of land with lots of grases. |
| isthmus | A narrow strip of land with sea on either side, forming a link between two larger areas of land. |
| tributary | A river or stream flowing into a larger river or lake. |
| glacier | A slowly moving mass or river of ice. |
| delta | A triangular tract of sediment deposited at the mouth of a river, typically where it diverges into several outlets |
| floodplain | An area of low-lying ground adjacent to a river, formed mainly of river sediments and subject to flooding |
| strait | A narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water |
| rift | A major fault separating blocks of the earth's surface. |
| island | a piece of land completely surrounded by water. |
| archipelago | A group of islands. |
| peninsula | A piece of land almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body of water. |
| bog | Wet muddy ground too soft to support a heavy body. |
| plateau | An area of relatively level high ground |
| fjord | A long, narrow, deep inlet of the sea between high cliffs. |
